THE INSPIRATION:
A tribute to Alphée Dubois, Grand Prix de Rome winner, spiritual father of Spoturno and grandfather of his wife Yvonne, this fragrance evokes the happy years expressed in the memory of a cruise along the rocky coasts of Corsica to the archipelago of the Sanguinaires Islands.

CREATIVE APPROACH:
"When Véronique told me about Alphée, an influential and historic member of her family, I was immediately transported into the imagery of a poem that has nothing to do with the man but that I adore, "Kubla Khan" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, which begins with the following verse:

"In Xanadu did Kubla Khan

A stately pleasure-dome decree:

Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man

Down to a sunless sea." (1)

(1) Translation: In Xanadu, Kubla Khan decreed a majestic pleasure dome, where Alph, the sacred river, flowed through caverns unfathomable to man, rushing into a sunless sea.

I wanted to recreate the atmosphere of the water of the river Alph, a fresh, mineral, and magical water with citrus from the East and amber. Then I wanted this water to have reflections of Corsica, which I imagined with touches of myrtle leaves and juniper berries. The mineral side is provided by myrtle leaves and Ambrofix, a molecule produced from clary sage that emits amber and mineral notes.

Alphée is a refreshing and mineral fragrance where citrus fruits are accompanied by myrtle leaves, juniper berries, and invigorated by touches of pink peppercorns, coriander, and nutmeg. Orange blossom and jasmine add a solar sensuality."
