Citrus
This category of perfumes includes all citrus fruits that are judiciously separated from other fruits in perfumery. On the one hand, because the extraction processes are not the same: here, we obtain the essential oil contained in the zest by cold expression. On the other hand, the intentions are different: citrus fruits bring to perfumes a zesty effect that is vibrant, dynamic, and sparkling, which is found in eau fraîches and colognes. Note that in France, these perfumes are also called "hesperides", an allusion to the garden of the Hesperides where the famous golden apples were actually oranges (but since the Greeks did not know this strange apple, they called it that).
