Powdered
Many ingredients can provide the powdery facet. The most emblematic remains incontestably the iris, one of the most expensive ingredients in perfumery. The carrot seed, often associated with the iris elsewhere, contributes to providing this impression of dryness. Both fragrant and textured, the flowers of narcissus, broom, mimosa also fall into this category. The violet, as for it, star of the facet, cannot be distilled naturally, the perfumer therefore resorts to synthesis with collection of ionones (powdery molecules). Finally, we can cite almond notes such as Tonka bean and coumarin, (its main constituent). Whatever the ingredient used, the powdery facet always plays the retro card, a little taste of nostalgia that reassures with sophistication.
