When she met Paul Vacher, perfumer and owner of Le Galion, he was captivated and asked Ava to become the ambassador and muse of Sortilège, a perfume evoking the extravagant evenings of the time and which had become the olfactory signature of the high society of the 'fifties'. Following the success of this collaboration, Ava Gardner asked Paul Vacher for a custom creation, designed especially for her. The perfumer, who held feminine distinction in high esteem, happily complied and composed the fragrance that would become L' ASTRE.

In 2022, Le Galion unveils L'Astre to the public, a contemporary rewriting of a formula that remained private for decades. Developed in collaboration with the Ava Gardner Fund and its heirs who offered access to their archives, L'ASTRE captures and symbolizes the brilliance of these two great names of the 20th century, whose influence continues to this day.
