Founded in 2006 by Etienne de Swardt, Etat Libre d’Orange is an independent perfume house born from the desire to free perfume from conventions. Convinced that perfume can disrupt, provoke connection with others, but also reconnect us to ourselves, Etienne envisioned a daring perfumery, free in its choices and unfettered by market dictates.
Inspired by his native country — the former Orange Free State in South Africa — he imbues the brand with a powerful vision: a raw, untamed land, rich in contrasts and emotions. A land of excess, unforgettable scents, and absolute freedom.
